Another baby was born this weekend to the Shackleford Banks’ wild horses at Cape Lookout National Seashore, bringing the total number of new foals this season to five.

The latest was captured taking a snooze in the sun while mama was close by.

“If you are lucky enough to see one, please remember to give new foals plenty of space, so they can rest, nurse and bond with their dam uninterrupted,” the Foundation for Shackleford Horses said in a Facebook post. The photo in this story was shot with a telephoto lens.

The wild mustangs of the Currituck Outer Banks have been busy, too, tending to three new foals so far this season.
