LIVE VIDEO: New COA Dare academic building groundbreaking today at 10 a.m.

Dare County and College of The Albemarle will host a groundbreaking event at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020, for COA’s brand-new 30,000-square-foot academic building that will be constructed on the college’s Dare County campus in Manteo.

Although the event is not open to the public due to COVID-19 restrictions, Dare County and COA invite viewers to experience the groundbreaking ceremony virtually by tuning into a livestream that will begin at 10 a.m. on Dec. 10.

Demolition of the building that previously existed on the site at 205 Highway 64 in Manteo began in September 2020. Construction of the two-story, state-of-the-art facility is slated to begin in early 2021, with an expected completion date in February 2022.
