Dare County health officials report 14th COVID-19 death

Dare County Health and Human Services on Thursday reported a 14th COVID-19 death on its daily pandemic dashboard, the seventh over the past month.

Health officials have not yet released details on the latest deaths.

The county has seen 2,771 COVID-19 cases since testing began in March, with 34 cases currently active among county residents. Among those, three people are hospitalized. Over the past few weeks, Dare County’s new cases have dropped dramatically, with eight new positive cases reported Thursday.

Among those, all are county residents. Two are under the age of 17, one is between the ages of 18 and 24, four are between the ages of 25 and 49 and one is between the ages of 50 and 64.
