Cape Hatteras Electric Cooperative warn of scam calls threatening service disconnection

According to a recent statement made by Cape Hatteras Electric Cooperative (CHEC), the company has had several members report being contacted from a North Carolina based phone number saying electricity would be turned off unless a payment is immediately made.

CHCE states that the company will never call and demand payment, threatening immediate disconnect and urge their members to stay vigilant.
